Category Marketing Manager

Job Description

As Channel Marketing Manager, you’ll be a part of a vibrant Professional Marketing team, which forms part of the wider Professional business. You’ll report directly to the Marketing Director, working cross functionally with other departments to deliver the sales and share goals for your category.

Key areas of focus:

  • Creation of insight led category, portfolio and format strategy for your category in order to drive JDE share growth.
  • Responsible for the JDE Professional brand strategy and execution guidelines for our key brands:  Kenco, Douwe Egberts and Maxwell House in collaboration with Retail and Global, to ensure a consistent message across all touchpoints.
  • Developing and executing an annual content and activation calendar including B2B media campaigns.
  • Set the price and promotional strategy for your category in collaboration with sales, revenue growth management and finance.
  • Bring NPD to market for your category, responsible for end-to-end project management of any new formats or products launched in your category.
  • Lead the relationship with our creative agency ensuring best in class ways of working across the team from briefing to measuring effectiveness of our spend.
  • Responsible for the marketing budget for your category, tracking and measuring spend effectiveness.
  • Line management of the marketing intern.
  • Forging excellent cross-functional relationships, by communicating and working closely together with Sales, Finance, Operations and Legal

Qualifications

  • Extensive Brand or Trade / Channel marketing experience, preferably within an FMCG environment.
  • Passion for marketing excellence and building brands and customer solutions, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - with track record of building strong relationships/collaboration.
  • Project management experience, a strong organizer, disciplined
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly, delivering to deadlines
  • Work as a team player as well as work autonomously, a self-starter with a ‘can-do’ and ‘keep it simple’ attitude
  • Strong IT, analytical and commercial skills, MS Office suite, Excel
